Giant sunflowers of the garden are captured in this quilt, that holds as many triple sunflowers as possible :).
1970's repro of an original 1933 pattern.
Sunflower pieces are cut from a template and are appliqued on top of a solid white fabric square, to make one single flower top square. Leaves and stem part, are also appliqued on a separate square. Then to make a large triple sunflower block, three sunflower flower top squares and one stem & leaf square are sewn together to make a large triple sunflower block. :)
Quilt is composed of 18 triple sunflower blocks, 10 half blocks (sides) and 4 quarter blocks (corners).
Finished quilt will measure approx 66 x 87 inches.
Individual blocks will measure approx 16 x 16 inches.
Finished quilt will measure approx 72" x 96" .
Blocks = 17.5" square.

Skill level is intermediate.
