Offering a vintage digital PDF knitting pattern to make a pretty Navajo designed afghan!
This pretty design is knit all in one piece in stockinette stitch on a circular needle or long flexible knitting needles. Colors are worked in from a chart.
Stitched in cobalt blue and warm sunset & desert shades.
Finished size approx. 40" x 56", plus fringe
Worsted weight yarn: royal blue, beige, light gold, medium gold, dark gold, orange, scarlet
Knitting needle, or "jumper" needles: 29"
Crochet hook: G
Twenty-four bobbins
Gauge: 5 sts = 1"; 13 rows = 2".
Notes: Use a separate bobbin for each color change. Always change colors on wrong side picking up new strand from under dropped strand. Cut and join colors as necessary.
